Finally...

As I said before, we are doing an owl theme for the baby's room. The only problem with that was the fact that they only made ONE crib bedding in owls. Remember this?
We loved it. We wanted it. We weren't loving the 250 dollar price tag. So we went searching for owl fabric so that we could make the bedding instead. Oh yeah. Cute owl fabric doesn't exist. So as I was becoming more and more stressed about not finding what I wanted or even liked, Martha and I came across this lovely fabric the day after Christmas. We needed an experiment project for our sewing machines, so we made pillows. Remember these?

Well, when I got home and put them in his crib, I began to like them so much I decided to use it instead! Which is a big plus, since all the colors matched our already made mattress pad covers and walls. Big relief. I can't wait to put everything together and check that big one off my list. Until then, I'll be waiting for these ridiculously cute pillows to grace me with their presence in the mail this weekend. (we're still going with owls in his room)
Made by my insanely talented and crafty mother.

*Christmas 2009*

Here is a quick recap of our Christmas!

This year was the Gerber side to spend Christmas with, and it was also my first Christmas I've had with them. Christmas eve we spent the day making peanut brittle, caramel, and White Trash (which is chex and pretzels with white chocolate and powder sugar. Just like Muddy Buddies. It was the best EVER). Sadly I didn't get any pictures of it on my camera, but it turned out great! We also learned how they celebrate Christmas in Holland, which is where Straton's dad, Gaylan, went on his mission. In Holland they put their shoes out on the doorstep and "Santa" (I forgot what they call him in Holland) comes around on his horse and fills their shoes with goodies. So of course we had to do this as well.

Gaylan also dresses up as Santa and visits families all around Logan. He has one of the best Santa costumes I've seen. The whole family went with him as he made his rounds from house to house, and we played Christmas related games and trivia in the car while we waited.

Once we came back we opened up our Christmas Eve present, which is a pajamas! Honestly, mine are so soft and comfy, I've had them on since.

Christmas day Straton and I woke up and opened our AWESOME gifts at home (thank you mom, dad and grandma!) and then headed up to the Gerber's house for breakfast and presents! We opened up fun stockings and then our other amazing presents. Thank you Gaylan and Debbie!! The rest of the day we ate, played some games, ate, visited with family and ate some more. It was one great Christmas.

Straton and I can't believe that this is our last Christmas alone! Every time I see our Christmas decorations I always think how next time I put those decorations up, there will be a baby to pull them down! -9 more weeks!!-

What I've been up to

One of my Christmas presents was an awesome new sewing machine from Straton's parents, Debbie and Gaylan!! I haven't stopped sewing since! My Christmas post is coming, I'm waiting on some pictures. I'm a dork and forgot to take any.

Spoiled

Ughh, I've done it. Yes. I'm a dog lady. Kind of like "the cat lady" only I'm obsessed with dogs. And instead of having 50 cats, I just wish I could have 50 dogs. Good thing I don't...
This little guy is spoiled. I don't even know if he knows he's a dog. He probably thinks he's a baby and I'm his mother. With that face, how can you not spoil him though?!
-Are you laughing at me yet??-
Anyway, we've decided that once this baby gets here, Harley is no longer allowed to sleep in our bed. I know, your probably cringing at the thought. I'm a sucker. I'll admit it. And probably a tad bit ridiculous on just how much I baby him. He literally won't let me go anywhere in the house without him. I can't even go to the bathroom alone.
-Laughing now? I am.-
So once this baby is here, I know Harley is going to be a major jealous freak, so we're breakin' him in early. From now on he is sleeping in his own bed and last night was the first attempt. Surprisingly, it went well.
Keep your fingers crossed.

30 Weeks!

Updates:

-Not too much has been happening or changing (with me at least). He should weigh just over 3 pounds now, and a length of about 17 inches.

- I had another dr. appoinment today and he's right on track and healthy! The doctor said I was a little anemic, which is just fine right now, but I have to take iron pills.

- We've been visiting with our doctor one week, and then the next visit we meet another delivery doctor at the office, which I think is awesome. We do this because our normal doctor is so busy that she might not be able to deliver me when the time comes (if it came fast and unexpected). Although I'm sure she will, it's nice to get to know the other doctors there so it's not some stranger in my business. -ifyouknowwhatimsayin-
The doctor we met with today was probably my favorite so far. He won tons of points because he told me more than once that I was skinny. Now I know I'm not huge and am at a good weight gain, but that can always make a pregnant woman feel great, right?!

Fatso

I've been pretty lucky with fitting into my clothes/jeans while being pregnant. Each day it dwindles down though. I have a lot of shirts that fit me just fine still, but I'm having trouble wearing my pants, even with my belly band. It never bothered me much, except for the pain from my clothes cutting into me, but now I have another sad issue...
I can no longer fit into my Temple dress. That means no more date nights to the temple with Straton. And I'll be squeezing into my dress for the last time the day after Christmas when I work there.
Luckily, when I first talked to one of the temple presidency about my "calling" there, I was about 2-3 months pregnant and told him about it. He said I could stop when I needed to, and that they would be happy to have me later on after the baby is born. He kept stressing to me that I need to take lots and lots of time first because family is number one. I think he told me that about 4 times, and I thought he was the cutest thing.
So sadly, I won't be attending the temple for a while. And I probably won't be working there for even longer, but it has been more than amazing to have done what I did. I got to work in the youth center and watch and dress the little children that were there to be sealed to their families. The best part was that I got to take them up and help with the actual sealing (holding them, if needed) and it was always an awesome experience. It's one thing to sit and watch a sealing, but such a different experience when you've helped out in some way. Even getting the little ones dressed and having them look at there "pretty white clothes" was amazing.
It just means I'm that much closer to meeting this little baby though, and I'm more happy about that then ever!

-This was at 28 weeks-

Hormones

WARNING

{Jaime, you might want to skip this post. I know your just as emotional right now.}

Let me start by saying that I have never been one to cry easily. Not at sappy love movies, heartbreaking stories...nothing really. I remember one young women's activity we had a sleepover at the Olsen's house. We watched that LDS movie Charly - if anyone knows it -
and I remember all the girls sobbing at the end, and I didn't shed a tear! I even tried to fake it so the other girls didn't think I was crazy or heartless.

Moving on.

Now that I'm pregnant, I cry over the craziest things! This AT&T commercial gets me every time. And I think the farther along I get, the worse it gets.

I was watching this Christmas youtube video today, and it brought tears to my eyes. I saw it for the first time last year, watched it 70 times, and NOW it makes me emotional.

What's happening to me?!

28 Weeks!

So I'm 3 days late with this. Better late than never. I think I look smaller in this picture than my 26 week picture.

Updates:

- I had my first 3rd trimester doctor appoinment yesterday! And I finally got my H1N1 shot, thank goodness. I was slacking. He should now weigh about 2 1/2 pounds, and be about 16 inches long!

- The doctor said everything is on track and we're doing great! The whole time she was touching my belly or trying to listen to his heart, he would kick her. She even had a laugh about.

- Whenever I lay on my back or even lean back, my stomach takes on a weird shape. He balls up on my right side and, I'm not gonna lie, it looks a little creepy. My belly looks like a heart standing up. If you can imagine how that looks..... :/

- I can't bend over to tie up my shoes so Straton is constantly helping me like I'm a 2 year old. He got a lot of compliments when we were at the Gerber Christmas party. What a stud.

This is what little fetus should look like:

•Thanksgiving•

This year we didn't have any plans of doing anything big or fancy for Thanksgiving dinner, so we tagged along with Uncle Glen and Aunt Temple's family and went with them to a buffet for dinner! Although it's nice being with family and being at your own home, it's so nice just to go, eat, and leave and not have to do anything!

After we ate we all went and saw A Christmas Carol in 3D. I don't know for sure if that's even the name of the movie. Straton and I didn't care for it so much. The 3D was cool but I def. thought it was going to be a completely different movie. Maybe I'm just tired of the whole Scrooge story since that's all my dad watches around Christmas time.

Little baby had his own pair too.

Ever since I became pregnant, Baxter (Glen and Temple's dog), has become my BFF whenever I go to their house. He jumps and cries for me the second I walk through the door. And whenever I am sitting, he wraps around and lays next to my belly. I never thought much of it until Temple came home from work one day. I was sitting on the couch when she came up to me and put her hands on my belly. The second she did, Baxter came running at her and jumped up on my lap and growled and barked at her with his paws across my belly. It's the funniest thing. We now test it out everytime I am over there. And everytime, he gets angry at whoever touches my belly. He even tried to take Straton's hands off at one point. Baxter apparently has made friends with little fetus, and is his protector.
These pictures were from the night he wouldn't leave my side. He even brought his little toy with him and fell asleep by my feet.
